Per our mission, the goal of the RCOC is only to start your educational journey, hopefully encouraging more owners to go on to take classes, work with trainers, and pursue more advanced accreditations or even dog sports!

As a result, if you’ve already pursued such avenues, we of course accept a range of more applied accreditations as superseding the RCOC. These currently include:

• AKC CGC (Canine Good Citizen) (any level)
• Any AKC Novice title or above (or equivalent in another widely-recognized association e.g., NACSW, USDAA, etc.), in Scent Work/Tracking, Agility, Obedience, Rally, Protection, or Herding. Unfortunately we do not accept FastCAT, Lure Coursing, or Conformation titles at this time.
• Most professional trainer certifications

If you have one of these certifications already, or if you have a different certification that is equivalent but we’ve missed, we will automatically provide you with RCO Certification.
